Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, has officially joined the comity of campus radio Institutions in Nigeria, following the approval of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) for it to begin test transmission on 99.7FM.

Platforms Africa, which reported this, quoted the Head, Public Relations/Protocol of the institution , Yemi Ajibola, to have confirmed the news in a statement made available to journalists in Abeokuta on Monday.

The test transmission, Ajibola said, takes immediate effect and subsequently, will start full operation on the same frequency modulation as the “voice of development”.

Acting Rector, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji, said the feat was in tandem with the vision of the State Government upon returning the Polytechnic to status quo.

He added that, the campus radio would not only serve as a practical medium for modern broadcast journalism but also enhance communication among MAPOLY’s ecosystem though educational and developmental programmes both terrestrially and online via www.mapolyradio.com.

Odedeji assured that the radio station is taking off when the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) would be visiting the Polytechnic for re-accreditation of programmes and resource inspection of 17 new programmes by August this year.
