The Agege and Orile Agege Community Media Practitioners, an Association of Community Media Practitioners in Agege Local Government and Orile Agege LCDA has elected new executive members who will steer the activities of the Association.
Coming from an extra ordinary meeting held over the weekend with the presence of all Community Media Practitioners in Agege/Orile-Agege, Sunday Oloyede Kolawole (Founder of Agege Tv) was elected as the Chairman while Shobande (of Agege Community Radio) was elected as the General Secretary. Otunba Yomi Fernandez Agege Pulse was equally elected as the Treasurer of the Association.
The Association, which was founded in 2016; has been contributing to the development of Agege and adjoining communities through objective news reportage, educating the public and constructive criticism of people oriented matters.
The journalists, through its new leadership, have maintained that members of the Association will continue to be objective, professional and discharge their professional duties as community media practitioners to further enhance development of Agege and Orile Agege respectively.
Meanwhile, Sunday Oloyede Kolawole later urged all residents to be rest assured of being informed accurately and factually.
In his words, he maintained that the voice and yearnings of the People is key and necessary towards Community development in Agege and Orile-Agege.
“We owe the people of Agege and Orile-Agege the responsibility to serve as their mouth piece, both the led and the leaders. Community development is also achieveable and possible through objective Information dissemination, which will also project Agege and Orile Agege in a positive light to the rest of the world”
“The development and Progress of Agege and Orile-Agege should come first, because as a key player and major stakeholder; we must not shy away from our responsibility of taking Agege to greater heights”
“I am using this medium to urge members of this noble profession to be more objective in the discharge of their primary responsibilities to residents of Agege and Orile-Agege and also ensure they abide by the ethics of Journalism which must serve as our guiding principles always,” he said.
Community Media Practitioners in attendance are: Oloyede Kolawole of Agege TV Online, Yomi Fernandez of Agege Pulse Magzine, Adenekan Adegbenro of hotnewsnaija, Onilude Ekundayo of Political Platform 101, Adeleye Wale of Grassroot times, Shobande Femi of Agege Community Radio, Friday Ibhabode of Agege Parrot.
