In reaction to the letter sent by Lagos State Ministry of of Commerce, Industry and Cooperative dated 19th July 2022, to the Chairman, Parcel B, Resettlement Indigenes (Abomiti, Eyin Osa, Yeguda-Parapo), the Indigenes of the Displaced Communities for Parcel B and Alaro City Projects have requested Mrs Lola Akande led Ministry to show evidence that the representatives of the families engaged the services of Barr. Lanre Ogunlesi (SAN) as their Lawyer to represent them.
Yeguda, Abomiti and Eyin-osa, the different communities are tagged as (Lekki Free Zone Parcel B Resettlement Communities) by the Lagos State Government, and they are the communities displaced by the Lagos State Government who compulsorily acquired their customary lands for the Lekki Free Zone Scheme and consequently compensated them after enumerations by relocated and resettled them on Abomiti, Yeguda and Eyin-osa.
The Families were represented by Adijat Apena and Chief Obafemi Obajimi disclosed that “Mrs Lola Akande has been conniving with a quack surveyor, Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya, Oba Kamarudeen Animashaun and Muraina Banjoko to Convert the Abomiti, Yeguda & Eyin-Osa ressetlement land for kickbacks.”
They stated that their families, through several petitions and evidences, will continue to accuse the Lagos State Commissioner for abusing her office to perpetrate evil and atrocities, specifically land grabbing by kickback policy.
In a statement released to journalists, it stated, “The gravamen of our petition is that Dr (Mrs) Lola Akande has been abusing the office of Commissioner for Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Lagos State to perpetrate evil and atrocities, specifically land grabbing by kickback policy.
“She appointed and found of addressing Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya (Quack Surveyor) as government surveyor and consultant in dealing with different resettlement lands through whom she has done several allocation for kickback.
“Prominent among the areas where Lola Akande has perpetrated her fraudulent acts of allocation for kickback in connivance with the Ministry Permanent Secretary, are Lekki Coasters Area, Epe Lagoons Development (Area) Association and the Airport Land Owners Resettlement Committee.”
According to them, Akande, in several occasions, has always been in connivance with key kingpins in land grabbing business and other corrupt hands in public service to fraudulently and forcefully eject the customary land owners and resettled communities to lost their aboriginal homes
“Lola Akande engages in this dampened atrocities in connivance with key kingpin in Land grabbing business, to mention but few – Oba Kamarudeen Animashaun (the Oloja of Epe), Oba Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya, A.K.A Alhaji White (Quack Surveyor who is fronting for Lola Akande), who now engaged and stationed Muraina Banjoko, A.K.A Threeco (the Invader) on restteled lands.
“Suffice to say that Dr. Mrs. Lola Akande has undoubtedly been fraudulently abusing her office as Commissioner for Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, to help the cause and thriving of land grabbing business in Lekki-Epe metropolis and Lagos State at large due to her selfish interest as a result of which many customary land owners and resettled communities have lost their aboriginal homes,” they said.
Meanwhile, Abomiti, Yeguda & Eyin-Osa Resettlement beneficiaries have challenged the ministry to show evidence(s) that they(families) introduced Barr. Lanre Ogunlesi to Ministry of of Commerce, Industry and Cooperative as their lawyer and consultant to the family.
Recall that the Indigenes Free Trade Zone Parcel B & Resettlement Communities have denied Barr. Lanre Ogunlesi (SAN) as a lawyer representing the beneficiaries on any case as the communities only engaged a popular Law firm, Ibile Partners to represent their interest anywhere in the country.
According to the letter written to Barr. Lanre Ogunlesi (SAN) and obtained by our correspondent, the communities denied ever engaging Ogunlesi as a lawyer and affirmed that the legal counsel was only engaged by Quack Surveyor, Onirete of Irete, Oba Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya (popularly known as Alhaji White) and his cohorts not the families of Yeguda, Abomiti and Eyin-osa.
The family representatives (Adijat Apena and Chief Obafemi Obajimi) added that all through their negotiations with Lagos State Government and its agencies, they never engaged Ogunlesi’s services talkless after they have received their entitlements from the government.
