The Indigenes Free Trade Zone Parcel B & Resettlement Community have berated Ogun State Monarch, Onirete of Irete, Oba Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya (popularly known as Alhaji White) and his cohorts for unlawful invasion, demolition and fraudulently takeover of landed properties statutorily allotted by Lagos State Government to resettled communities of Abomiti, Yeguda and Eti-Osa.
In a petition addressed to Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman over the criminal conversion, fraudulent take over, thuggery, sporadic shooting and malicious wanton damage to the landed properties of the resettled communities.
It reads, “Our complaint is on the vast hectares of land statutorily allocated to our clients by the Lagos State Government but it has been illegally taken over and unlawfully converted by a Quack Surveyor Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya (Alhaji White) and his fraudulent real estate cohorts, conniving with Oba Animashaun who have stationed a notorious land grabber in person of Muraina Banjoko (Threeco) and his gang serial killers fully armed with sophisticated guns on the strategic parts of our clients’ lands with a view to completely wade the original owners away from their resettlement lands so as to condemn them to status of wanderers.
“ Now, Lekki Free Zone Resettlement lands is full of strangers stationed thereon by Quack Surveyor Olusegun Awokoya to maim, murder and kill any bonafide indigenes of Yeguda, Abomiti and Eyin-osa resettlement communities who wish to challenge their acts of vandalism they are perpetrating therein which is detrimental and prejudicial to the equitable and legal interests of the communities’ statutory lands”.
According to indigenes of Yeguda, Abomiti and Eyin-osa, the different communities are tagged as (Lekki Free Zone Parcel B Resettlement Communities) by the Lagos State Government, and they are the communities displaced by the Lagos State Government who compulsorily acquired their customary lands for the Lekki Free Zone Scheme and consequently compensated them after enumerations by relocated and resettled them on Abomiti, Yeguda and Eyin-osa.
To legalize their right of occupancy of their lands allocated to them for their resettlement, the Lagos State Government granted the displaced communities the Certificate of Occupancy No. 33/33/2022 to Eyin-osa Resettlement zone; Certificate of Occupancy No. 93/93/2021F granted to Yeguda Resettlement Zone, and the Certificate of Occupancy No. 96/96/2021F to Abomiti.
However, the communities complained that despite the Certificate of Occupancy granted to them by Lagos State Government, none of the indigenous members can access their statutory lands due to heavy armed bandits placed on the strategic parts of the lands by Muraina Banjoko, Oba Olusegun Awokoya (Alhaji White) and his team of allegedly foot soldiers.
In addition, the members lamented that Oba Olusegun Awokoya who usually parading himself as registered Surveyor has criminally defrauded thousands of families in Ibeju Lekki metropolis and brought bitterness into several households and communities.
On the same vein, Chairman of Aba Onigbagbo Family of Abomiti Zone, Chief Obafemi Obajimi, stated that Oba Awokoya, over the years, claimed to be a registered surveyor to the families and illegally sold almost all the lands with the assistance of Lagos State Commissioner, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Mrs Lola Akande.
“Oba Olusegun Awokoya claimed to have done a registered survey for each other communities in returns of One and half plots per Acre in which for more than 3 years, he has not provide evidence of any of the communities “Record Copy and Lodgement Receipt” for him to be entitled to the land but he has sold almost all the land.
“On failing regarding the survey obligation, he deceived some of our clients in purchasing part of their land in which he tipped them with some gotten 5% to 20% of what he requested for and he has fully taken over the whole property, convert same to start defrauding innocent buyers.
“He fraudulently connived with Lola Akande who shamelessly abused her office as a Commissioner for Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives to satisfy the bid of her cohort, land grabber, when she fraudulently released the aforesaid Certificate of Occupancy due to our clients (the original beneficiaries) to Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya (Quack Surveyor Alhaji White) who is not related any of Abomiti, Yeguda and Eyin-osa,” he said.
Obajimi added the alleged quack surveyor tricked the member of the communities when he fraudulently handed over the said C of O to his personal lawyer, Lanre Ogunleshi, SAN, and who have all refused to release the said C of O to the beneficiaries after several demands.
In order to put an end to Awokoya’s atrocities in connivance with Lola Akande, Oba Kamarudeen Animashaun, Lanre Ogunleshi, Threeco and their hoodlums, the indigenes of Free Trade Zone Parcel B Resettlement Communities of Eyin-osa, Yeguda and Abomiti are appealing to the Inspector General of Police for discreet investigation as the communities can no longer condone insecurity and wicked criminal acts of the callous individuals.
