It was pomp and pageantry today, drums rolled and dancing shoes were put on by the retirees in Orile Agege Local Council Development Area as the Executive Chairman , Hon. Johnson Sunday Babatunde, Exco members and Management team on Thursday, 29th December 2022, honored and sends forth its retirees who has put in years of active and meritorious service.
Hon Johnson Sunday Babatunde in his opening speech said the ceremony was put in place to appreciate the retirees for their efforts while in service, he thanked them for putting in their best and encouraged them to be closer to God, engage in small businesses to keep body and soul together and participate in religious and social activities.
The Council manager, Dr Adesanya Adekoya in his welcome address appreciated the retirees for working tirelessly while in service and have retired but not tried. He said the ceremony was put in place to show gratitude , honour as well as appreciate the retirees.
While delivering the goodwill message from the head of service, the director PRO service department, Mr Ayorinde, offered words of advice, saying , “we are here today to celebrate your sterling contributions to service, we encourage you to exercise regularly, participate in various leisure activities while also going for regular medical checkups, as retirement is the beginning of another life entirely”.
In appreciation, certificates and gifts items were handed over to the retirees from the local and state government.
One the retirees, Mrs Opadotun who spoke on behalf of others was full of thanks to the Chairman and his team, saying Orile Agege LCDA is the best in all the local government she has worked in.
The human resource officer, Mr.Jubril Aliu, thanked the Executive Chairman, Exco members and Management team for deeming fit to recognize and celebrate the retirees and this is not a common event in all Local government, he particularly appreciated the Chairman for always giving a listening ear and attention to all staff matters.
Present at the occasion were the Executive Chairman, Hin J S Babatunde, Vice Chairman, Hon Kafilat Akanni Pedro, SLG, Hon James Agboola, Supervisor for special duties, Hon Adedokun Olubisi, Council manager , Dr Adekoya, Council Treasurer, Mr Muyiwa Onakoya , other management team, Nulge exco and members of staff.
