It was a jubilation galore in the studio as Managing Director of Lagos popular Radio station, Mainland 98.3 FM, Mr Okegbenro Abiodun Idowu gave out a JAMB form and One Hundred Thousand Naira to Miss Favour Imeh who rescued a truck pusher from Asthmatic attack.
Okegbenro is a business guru and philanthropist.
Favour Imeh featured on a popular Yoruba Human Rights programme ”ETO MI” to explain how she has the courage to rescue the poor truck pusher around Anthony Village, Lagos.
‘ETO MI’ is anchored by Adegbenro Nurudeeen and Mrs Tumise Oluwatoyin Adeleye on Mainland 98.3 FM.
According to the student of Anthony Village Senior High School, ”I did what do to save life, nothing more.”
While explaining the how she did the rescue, 19 year old student narrated that one of her friends in school pointed her to the scene.
She said, ” I saw one of my friends named ‘Daniel’ who was running and I asked him what is pursuing him. He said someone is dying of Asthma and he is running to get a solution. And I remembered that I have my inhaler with me since I am also an asthmatic patient.
”When I got there, the man was facing the ground and inhaling dust already. I begged someone to help me to raise him and turn him around. Nobody was willing to help at that time. They were thinking it was epilepsy. When I turned him over, he wasn’t breathing again. I was scared but I have helped someone liked before in the same Anthony Village. His own inhaler has finished. I pop trice into his mouth and he comes back to life.”
In the words of the Station Manager of Mainland FM, Mr Saheed Fuhad, ”The gift from the Managing Director is part of the Civic Social Responsibility of Mainland 98.3 FM to the host community. Anthony Village Senior High School and Favour Imeh are parts of our external public. We shall continue to be putting smiles on the faces of our publics.”
Fuhad added that Mainland FM will continue to churn out educative, informative and entertaining programmes to the listeners.
On another hand, Favour thanked the Management of Mainland FM for the gifts and advised Nigerians to be their brother’s keepers as God created us for ourselves.
Meanwhile, the team of ”Eto Mi’ praised a safety manager, Dr Dennis Olabisi who hinted the Mainland FM about the issue.
