2024 Budget: Orile Agege LCDA Chairman engages residents, promises better governance

The Executive Chairman of Orile Agege LCDA, Hon. Johnson Sunday Babatunde engaged with major several stakeholders across the six wards of the council area.

Sunday Babatunde engaged the Politicians, Professionals, Traditional rulers, the students, youths and market women over what they are expecting from Local Government in the proposed year.

During his welcome address, Hon Babatunde thanked various stakeholders for support and urge them to come out with meaningful propositions to be included in the lists of projects for 2024.

He said, ”As we all know, overtime, our administration has initiated lofty programmes and carried out laudable projects aimed at addressing the needs of our people economically, socially and politically. In addition and as we march on, this forum is basically to hear about your yearnings and have your input as stakeholders in the community into the year 2024 proposed budget. We are doing this to intimate ourselves with the needs of different wards within Orile Agege and I believe everyone here present will adequately contribute positively to the success and execution of the proposed year 2024 budget.

”Earlier this year in actualization of our previous budget we commissioned 3 major projects in a day and they have since been used judiciously by our people. These projects were Claudianna Ibijoke Sanwool Primary Healthcare Centre, Orile Agege Primary School and Taoofek Adaranijo Multipurpose Event Centre.”

He later rolled out his achievements in 2023 and seek for more supports in the coming year.

His achievements are :

WORKS & HOUSING

  1. Construction of Drainages at Dele Ibidun Street
  2. Construction of Road with Interlocking Stones at Alaagba Residential Scheme 1
  3. Construction of Dranages at Olurinde Street
  4. Construction of Drainages at Ashipa Street
  5. Ongoing Construction of Drainages at Musili Street
  6. Ongoing rehabilitation of Amoo Central Mosque
  7. Ongoing construction of Drainages at Alaramimo Street.
  8. Rehabilitation of Magbon central Mosque
  9. Rehabilitation of Amao central Mosque.

EDUCATION

  1. Rehabilitation of Bishop Ajana Primary School
  2. Rehabilitation of Sacred Cherubim and Seraphim Primary School
  3. Rehabilitation of Ladoje Primary School
  4. Ongoing Rehabilitation of Community High School
  5. Ongoing rehabilitation of Eko Primary School
  6. Distribution of Books & Stationeries to all Public-School Students in the LCDA
  7. Provision of computers to Primary Schools
  8. Provision of desk and benches to Primary schools.

WATER & BOREHOLE

  1. Sinking of borehole at Ajiboye Street
  2. Sinking of borehole at Funmilayo Bus stop
  3. Sinking of borehole at

EMPOWERMENT

  1. Empowerment of 210 residents of Orile Agege LCDA with the sum of N100,000 each
  2. Monthly Distribution of Food Items to the widows and the aged
  3. Empowerment of 150 residents of Orile Agege LCDA with the sum of N100,000 each
  4. 50% subsidy removal on food items.
  5. Empowerment of Youth with POS Machines and 50,000 cash.

SECURITY

  1. Holding of regular meetings with security personnel and other stakeholders to forestall criminality and any form of thuggery in Orile Agege and its environs.
  2. Establishment of our own security agency which will be in partnership with the police force to secure lives and properties of residents and indigenes of Orile Agege.
