An Islamic charity organisation, Habiba Charity Foundation has raised the bar as it donated mosque and boreholes to several communities in Ogun State.
The Foundation was established to cater for the welfare of downtrodden, prison inmates, juveniles and orphans.
Habiba Charity Foundation, at the weekend, commissioned a newly built mosque to residents of Ilado community, a suburb area of Odogbolu in Ogun State.
Also, boreholes were donated to Osibadewa, Ibefun and other adjoining communities.
According to a resident, the communities have been suffering from water supply for many years as many residents relied solely on streams for social needs.
During the commissioning of the humanitarian projects, the founder of the Habiba Charity Foundation, Alh. Abdulrasheed Sunmola, represented by Project Coordinator, Hajjia Hafsat Otenike thanked the community leaders, Muslim community and residents for allowing the foundation to set the projects in their respective areas.
‘‘We thank all the community leaders, Muslim community and residents for allowing us to set the projects here. We urge the residents to protect and maintain the projects for their use. Apart from Habiba Charity Foundation, it is important for private individuals and groups to come to the aid of rural communities.
‘‘We cannot do it alone considering the numbers of rural areas that need attention. We urge all meaningful Nigerians (Home and abroad) to contribute to Habiba Charity Foundation so that we can touch many more lives,’’ he said.
At the commissioning, Alh. Sani Abdullahi Saliu, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Ogun State Police Command (represented by SP Oyekangun Kehinde, DPO Odogbolu), lauded the contribution of Habiba Charity Foundation to rural development.
Recall that Habiba Charity Foundation has constructed many mosques and sunk boreholes to several communities across Southwestern States of the country.
The event flanked High Chief Abdulganiyy Dada, Baale Osibadewa Ilado, Alh. Chief Muftaudeen Adeleye, Borokini Adinni of Ibefun community, Islamic clerics and the residents.
