The Executive Chairman of Orile Agege LCDA, Hon. Johnson Babatunde has again raised the need for accountability in the management of the Council’s affairs.
“We are all answerable and accountable to the people as we are holding fort for them”, he said in his welcome address as he declared open the year 2023 budget retreat of the LCDA which took place from Tuesday, 29th November to Thursday 1st December, 2022 at Osmark Hotel and Suites, Ibadan.
Hon. Babatunde urged all present to see themselves as great stakeholders and be ready to put all hands on deck, contribute their quota as well as share their wealth of experience in a bid to adding value to this year’s budget.
Meanwhile, Babatunde also enjoined the participants to cooperate in the aspect of revenue generation, guide against every loophole, while particularly imploring all the revenue Officers and their principals to work assiduously in order to improve the Internally Generated Revenue of the Council.
According to him, higher revenue would enable the LCDA to give back to the people through economic, human, educational and Infrastructural development.
The guest speaker, Mr. Yusuf Femi Lamina, spoke extensively on Local government internally generated revenue as an essential tool for local development.
Present at the retreat were the Exco members, legislators, Management, Area Officers, Nulge Exco, revenue chairman and all revenue stakeholders.
