We are not landgrabbers, tell Oba Ganiyu Awokoya, Oba Kamarudeen Animashaun to leave our lands for us – Free Trade Zone Parcel B Indigenes

The Indigenes Free Trade Zone Parcel B & Resettlement Community have asked Ogun State Monarch, Onirete of Irete, Oba Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya (popularly known as Alhaji White) and Oloja of Epe ,Oba Kamarudeen Animashaun and Muraina Banjoko and their cohorts to leave their lands immediately.

They made the call after a recent information published in a popular Lagos based Newspaper that some landgrabbers invaded their communities and burnt some houses in the area.

According to the Chairman of Free Trade Zone Parcel B Resettlement Communities (Abomiti, Eyin Osa, Yeguda-Parapo), Chief Obafemi Obajimi, the two monarchs and their cohorts have been perpetrating evils and atrocities, specifically land grabbing activities in the area.

He said, “The gravamen of our petition is that Dr (Mrs) Lola Akande has been abusing the office of Commissioner for Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Lagos State to perpetrate evil and atrocities, specifically land grabbing by kickback policy.

“She appointed and found of addressing Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya (Quack Surveyor) as government surveyor and consultant in dealing with different resettlement lands through whom she has done several allocation for kickback.

“Prominent among the areas where Lola Akande has perpetrated her fraudulent acts of allocation for kickback in connivance with the Ministry Permanent Secretary, are Lekki Coasters Area, Epe Lagoons Development (Area) Association and the Airport Land Owners Resettlement Committee.”

Meanwhile, the families further alleged that Lagos State Commissioner of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives is currently with her cohort to convert the lands statutorily allocated for the resettlement of Free Lekki Zone Parcel B communities at Abomiti, Yeguda, and Eyin-Osa.

On the same vein, Madam Apena Adijat, Secretary of Abomiti, Yeguda & Eyin-Osa resettlement landowners, disclosed that the issue of invasion was a pure misinformation and no houses were burnt in the Area.

“All what they said on the pages of Newspaper are pure lies and no houses were burnt. Let them show the pictures and video of their claims. All the people protesting in the video were arranged the landgrabbers to send wrong information to the general public. Onirete of Irete, Oba Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya (popularly known as Alhaji White), Lagos State Commissioner of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Mrs Lola Akande and Oloja of Epe ,Oba Kamarudeen Animashaun are the real landgrabbers. They don’t belong to our families but always causing confusion to convert our lands to theirs,” she said.

Recall that the families are indigenes of Yeguda, Abomiti and Eyin-osa, the different communities tagged as (Lekki Free Zone Parcel B Resettlement Communities) by the Lagos State Government, and they are the communities displaced by the Lagos State Government who compulsorily acquired their customary lands for the Lekki Free Zone Scheme and consequently compensated them after enumerations by relocated and resettled them on Abomiti, Yeguda and Eyin-osa.

The indigenes of Free Trade Zone Parcel B Resettlement have petitioned Lagos State Government, Attorney General of the State, Lagos State Commissioner of Police and Inspector General of Police to launch investigations into the fraudulent acts of these landgrabbers.
