Free Trade Zone Parcel B Resettlement Indigenes consist of Eyin-osa, Yeguda and Abomiti resettlement ‘Parcel B’ communities have petitioned Surveyors Council of Nigeria (SURCON) against Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya (popularly known as Alhaji White) who continuously parades himself as a surveyor, using this guise to dubiously specialize in laying claims to lands of Ibeju Lekki residents. In a petition made available to journalists in Lagos, the indigenes accused that Awokoya has been parading himself to landowners and residents as surveyor and using the guise in laying claim to Eyin-Osa, Abomiti and Yeguda resettlement lands. It reads, “This is a Petition against “surveyor” Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya (Alh. White) who continuously parades himself as a surveyor, using this guise to dubiously specialize in laying claim to Eyin-Osa, Abomiti and Yeguda resettlement lands and also the same person who connived with Oloja Epe and some civil servants to convert Lekki Coaster and Epe Lagoon Ressetlement thereby preventing the beneficiaries from settling and having peaceful enjoyment of their land, causing the communities much more harm than good. “This scandalous act of Ganiyu Awokoya is enough breeding ground for anarchy that if not tamed and investigated will bring about precedence to breed more “fake surveyors” further tarnishing the image of the body meant to regulate the practice of Surveyors profession in Lagos State and Nigeria.” According to counsel of the families, Barr. Pearl Ehigimetor, Ganiyu Awokoya has been involving in a nefarious land grabbing activities within Ibeju Lekki Local Government and many residents have unluckily fallen victims of his nefarious and dubious acts. Ehigimetor added that it is important for Surveyor Council of Nigeria, regulating professionalism of all the Surveyors and protecting the sanctity of its members, to protect its image against Awokoya who has severally claiming to be a member of SURCON, merely to defraud people and thrive his land grabbing business in Ogun and Lagos States respectively. “Having no regard or respect for the prestigious institution, the Surveyor Council of Nigeria, regulating professionalism of all the Surveyors and protecting the sanctity of its members (Surveyors), Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya erected a sign post with caption ‘THE SURVEYOR” boldly written against his name, in front of his office at Eleko in Ibeju Lekki Local Government Area, Lagos State. “On that note, Awokoya has fraudulently committed some families in Ibeju Lekki including our clients – to enter into agreements with him to do survey in respect of their lands and to do lodgment of the said survey at the consideration of 1 plot per Acre which Awokoya had failed to do for the families, and in fact he has even given some family fake surveys, just to justify his fraudulent forceful taking over of such lands,” she said. Meanwhile, the self-acclaimed registered surveyor was alleged to have engaged and stationed Muraina Banjoko (a.k.a Threeco) and armed bandits on the strategic parts of Lekki Coaster and Epe Lagoon Resettlement lands. Eyin-osa, Yeguda and Abomiti resettlement ‘Parcel B’ communities are now urging SURCON to investigate the fraudulent activities of the alleged impersonator before the noble professional association suffer more disrepute to her hard earned and long untamed reputation which will affect the businesses of the real registered surveyors in Lagos state.
