The Indigenes of the Displaced Communities for Parcel B and Alaro City Projects have raised alarm on how Lagos State Commissioner of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Mrs Lola Akande has been conniving with a quack surveyor, Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya, Oba Kamarudeen Animashaun and Muraina Banjoko to Convert the Abomiti, Yeguda & Eyin-Osa ressetlement land for kickbacks
In a Press statement and petitions jointly signed and made available to journalists, Free Trade Zone Parcel B Resettlement Indigenes accused the Lagos State Commissioner of abusing her office to perpetrate evil and atrocities, specifically land grabbing by kickback policy.
It reads, “The gravamen of our petition is that Dr (Mrs) Lola Akande has been abusing the office of Commissioner for Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Lagos State to perpetrate evil and atrocities, specifically land grabbing by kickback policy.
“She appointed and found of addressing Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya (Quack Surveyor) as government surveyor and consultant in dealing with different resettlement lands through whom she has done several allocation for kickback.
“Prominent among the areas where Lola Akande has perpetrated her fraudulent acts of allocation for kickback in connivance with the Ministry Permanent Secretary, are Lekki Coasters Area, Epe Lagoons Development (Area) Association and the Airport Land Owners Resettlement Committee.”
Meanwhile, the combined families further alleged that Lagos State Commissioner of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives is currently with her cohort to convert the lands statutorily allocated for the resettlement of Free Lekki Zone Parcel B communities at Abomiti, Yeguda, and Eyin-Osa.
According to them, Akande, in several occasions, has always been in connivance with key kingpins in land grabbing business and other corrupt hands in public service to fraudulently and forcefully eject the customary land owners and resettled communities to lost their aboriginal homes
“Lola Akande engages in this dampened atrocities in connivance with key kingpin in Land grabbing business, to mention but few – Oba Kamarudeen Animashaun (the Oloja of Epe), Oba Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya, A.K.A Alhaji White (Quack Surveyor who is fronting for Lola Akande), who now engaged and stationed Muraina Banjoko, A.K.A Threeco (the Invader) on resttled lands.
“Suffice to say that Dr. Mrs. Lola Akande has undoubtedly been fraudulently abusing her office as Commissioner for Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, to help the cause and thriving of land grabbing business in Lekki-Epe metropolis and Lagos State at large due to her selfish interest as a result of which many customary land owners and resettled communities have lost their aboriginal homes,” they said.
Free Trade Zone Parcel B Resettlement Indigenes later explained that it was the Lagos State that relocated and resettled their communities to Abomiti, Yeguda and Eyin-osa.
“To legalize their occupation of the lands, the Lagos State Government granted the Free Trade Zone Parcel B Resettlement Indigenes (Abomiti, Yeguda and Eyin-osa) Certificate of Occupancy No. 33/33/2022 to Eyin-osa Resettlement zone; Certificate of Occupancy No. 93/93/2021F granted to Yeguda Resettlement Zone, and the Certificate of Occupancy No. 96/96/2021F,”they said.
However, the communities complained that despite the Certificate of Occupancy granted to them by Lagos State Government, none of the indigenous members can access their statutory lands due to heavy armed bandits placed on the strategic parts of the lands by Muraina Banjoko and particularly Ganiyu Awokoya (Alhaji White).
The Indigenes also accused Lagos Commissioner of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Lola Akande of not releasing Certificate of Occupancy to the real beneficiaries of the resettlement.
“In deviance and gross abuse of her office as Commissioner for Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Dr. Mrs. Lola Akande did not release the aforesaid Certificate of Occupancy to the real beneficiaries of same but to her alleged personal Consultant in person of Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya (Alhaji White), a notorious land grabber and quack Surveyor who is not in any way related to any of Abomiti, Yeguda and Eyin-osa,” they explained.
The indigenes of Free Trade Zone Parcel B Resettlement urged Lagos State Government and Attorney General of the State to raise immediate and prompt investigations into fraudulent acts.
